SmartCoat T1 is a single-component, polymer-modified repair mortar designed for use as a smart coat, repair mortar, or protective coating. When mixed with water as directed, it forms a fine grey trowelable mortar that can be applied to fill pores, blowholes, and blemishes on concrete surfaces. It serves as a “skim” coat prior to the application of protective coatings, ensuring a uniform and smooth surface.

  • Smart coat to cover and repair blemishes in concrete surfaces.
  • Patch repair for defects such as honeycombing, blowholes, sand runs, shutter movement, and grout loss.
  • Preparatory treatment for concrete surfaces before applying protective coatings.
  • Produces a uniform surface over repaired areas.

Application

SmartCoat T1 must be applied to the complete area with a minimum trowelling. After a short period, it can be trowelled again for a more finished surface. For enhanced finishing, a small amount of water can be flicked onto the surface before final trowelling. It can also be applied with a brush or roller, with excess scraped off using the edge of a steel float to hide blowholes and minor blemishes.
